Screen goes blank every few seconds

Hi,

just got SoaSEII on steam, and trying to run through tutorials. Open game and every few seconds screen goes blank before coming back on.

 

using a 3080 - no problems with card and fine with other games (inc X4) - even doing this in the main menu.

cant see this coming up in search - any ideas how to fix?
