Cannot join / interesting fleet moving

Hey, I'm having some trouble with this game. I can't join my friend's game when he invites me, the only way I can join is by using the code. Also, when the fleet moves, sometimes only the big ships jump and sometimes only the smaller ships jump. And in some rare cases, they decide to split up and jump from two different directions. Have you had these issues too?
