AI Structure Placement - Poor

The AI annoyingly builds all the structures in a tight bunch in clusters, the same things happen with AI placement using the planet management menu. Please can the AI have some work on placement that actually makes sense? It would make battles more challenging/fun if some simple rules where made around fairly logical structure placement, and it would make the planet manager more useful for players across large maps, or during intense tactical gameplay.
