Error reading [save file] : Read collection size that is too large : 4294967297

I'm experiencing a consistent crash when trying to load any save from the Defend the Homeworld scenario (Paths to Power DLC). This happens with both old saves and brand-new ones created after a full clean reinstall.

Exact Error: Error reading [save file path] : Read collection size that is too large : 4294967297 (version shown in previous logs: 1.51.15, but please confirm current version after reinstall)

What works and what doesn't:

• Normal single-player skirmish games save and load without any issues.
• The problem is isolated only to the Defend the Homeworld scenario.
• New saves in this scenario are created, but the game crashes every time I try to load them (immediately on load).

Steps I have already tried:

• Full clean reinstall of the game + Paths to Power DLC through Epic Games Launcher (all local files in C:\Users\adamb\AppData\Local\sins2\ were deleted).
• Epic Cloud Saves completely disabled.
• Deleted the scenario-specific save folder (1044 folder).
• No mods enabled at any point.
• Verified game files.
• Tried the Ctrl + Shift + S → front_end.enable_strict_Saved_Game_Filtering set to false.

None of these resolved the issue.

Additional info:

• Platform: Epic Games Launcher
• The crash occurs specifically during the save loading process for this DLC scenario (normal games are unaffected).
• This makes the entire Defend the Homeworld scenario unplayable, as progress cannot be saved and reloaded.

I can provide the latest crash log file if needed.

Has anyone else encountered this with Defend the Homeworld after recent patches (v1.51 "Hunt fer Booty" series)? Any workaround or fix?
