Splitting beam? Is it possible?

Hey all. I am trying to make it so that when a custom ship uses the trader_battle_capital_ship_experimental_beam to fire from different mesh points. I names these mesh points ability.0, ability.01, ability.002 on my model. I only have one beam firing the ability.0 .. How can i make this work?
